Last Game: In their home opening win against Inter Wichita, it was clear that Sunflower State FC had some preseason rust to knock off. After going down 0-2 in the first 10 minutes of the game, SSFC found their legs and took advantage of several goalkeeping mistakes to make the score 2-2. Late in the 1st half 15-year-old Goalkeeper, Matthew Solorio, came out against streaking Inter Wichita Forward, Juan Zamora, who pushed the ball past Solorio and then went head over heels in the penalty box. The Referee deemed it a penalty and Inter would go up 2-3 into halftime. Ruairi Cotter would make it 3-3 in the second half after testing Inter goalkeeper Luke Dixon from distance. Tired legs were evident all around, but Sunflower State veteran and coach Nick McDonald was able to get himself his second of the night on a breakaway for the 4-3 lead. Girma Kassa would add one for his second making the final 5-3.
